Salt Lake Engagement Session | Nathan + Brinleigh
Updated: Jul 25, 2019
Happy Independence Day, everyone! 4th of July was always my favorite as a kid because I loved the fireworks and always thought they were for me and my birthday (which is July 8th). It was a pretty heart-wrenching moment when someone told me the fireworks were for America's birthday, not mine, but then I decided that America was cool so we could share the fireworks instead :)
But what better way to celebrate our nation's independence than by practicing freedom of religion! This adorable couple will be married in the LDS temple this September, a freedom that not everyone can claim as their own. As member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints we believe that when you are married in the temple under the correct authority, you won't just be married "til death do us part", you're married for eternity. So this freedom to get married in our temples is extremely important to us!
Nathan and Brinleigh are so blessed to have this opportunity, just like Kyle and I were blessed to get married in the temple just over 3 years ago (eek!). They are one of the cutest couples I've ever had the pleasure to photograph; their smiles are infectious, they laugh with their whole heart, and their love is actually tangible. You can't help but be happy around these guys! That's one of the main things I look for as a wedding photography when I'm trying to determine if a bride and I will be a good fit. I want to serve all of my clients to the very best of my ability and I know from experience that we click so much better when they are just as excited and bubbly as I am! And that's one of the first things I recognized when Brinleigh and I did our first Skype call: she couldn't stop smiling and laughing! And I just knew we were going to have tons of fun :)
For their engagement session we headed up to Temple Square and shot all around the beautiful gardens and historic buildings! As a San Antonio wedding photographer, and therefore used to shooting in 100+ degree weather, I was loving the nice cool breeze! The cooler weather is seriously almost enough for me to not want to go back! (Jk, I promise I'm coming home soon ;). And a lot of these buildings have special spiritual significance for us as members of the Church so that just added to the beautiful atmosphere we created. Nathan and Brinleigh came totally prepared with their outfit changes in hand and smiles on their faces. Fighting through Salt Lake traffic can be super stressful, but they both had super positive attitudes that carried throughout the entire session, making the emotions we were able to capture all the more real and inspiring.
But don't just take my word for it! Here are a few of my favorites from the engagement session! This couple truly just SHINES and you can see it in every photo :) Thank you Brinleigh and Nathan for being so amazing! I can't wait to capture your wedding!
